Second Palm Exhibit
PALM REGION DIALOGUES
Cultural Program of FEDEPALMA
The experience we enjoyed during the First Palm Exhibit
has provided us much satisfaction and many memorable events.
The first was to verify that the event was understood and
enjoyed by both professional and local artists (and many
useful and delicious visits were made to several plantations).
The second, also very important, was the sensation that
the palm-growing communities participated in the event with
great pleasure and enthusiasm, expressing their own voices.
This is what we would like to build upon in this second
round: We believe that the First Palm Exhibit has opened
a new path that we can confidently tread upon. We intend
to enrich the dialogue we started with the understanding
that the works displayed by the artists are a bridge towards
opening new relationships, insights and knowledge. Our country
is immensely rich in its cultural diversity, and each palm-growing
region has its own unique cultural essence that we believe
is possible to discover and reveal through art and the images
created by artists who are members of the communities and
who see them from an insider’s perspective. It is
in this exchange of perspectives that we can find a real
possibility of communication and understanding. This exchange
benefits all program participants in many ways, and promotes
invaluable ties of solidarity.

Palms and Landscapes – Second Palm Exhibit
The cultural program of FEDEPALMA, Dialogues
of the Palm-Growing Regions, invites all companies affiliated
to FEDEPALMA to sponsor the participation
of their personnel in the landscape workshops to be held
with artists in the different palm-growing regions. The
workshop is directed by an artist who is a professional
in plastic arts from the nearest city to the plantations,
with experience in didactic workshops.
The paintings produced by these workshops will be presented
at the Second Palm Exhibit.
The exhibit will be presented in Cartagena from September
19th to 22nd, during the XV International Conference on
Palm Oil.
